What is the difference between Grade A handles and Grade B handles?

This is a robust and wonderfully curved single bit axe handle. It's a bit thicker to withstand the extra force you can create with this length of a handle and the handle is thoughtfully curved to help make it more ergonomically and comfortable in hand! Each of these handles are hand picked by our team to ensure they are of the highest quality! They are made from 36" of air dried American Hickory!

The dimension of the eye is: ~ 2 1/2" x 3/4"

If you really want to add some character to your new hang pick up a walnut wedge!

You can also grab an extra poplar wedge if you want too!

Note: Shoulder is 2 1/2" x 1".

Every axe handle comes with the proper wedge!

Best Axe Handle I’ve Held

I rehandle axes on a weekly basis and I am sick of handles that are poorly designed and have too much material. I couldn’t have made a better handle than this 36” from Whiskey River myself. It truly outclasses my usual stock.

Handled my splitting maul that I forged myself using this handle. The handle is beautiful, no knots in it and the grain is oriented well. The length is exactly what I was looking for and the handle feels good in the hands. My only (very minor) complaint is that the part of the shoulder where the wedge is driven into is a little on the shorter side but that may have had more to do with my hand forged head. Overall would buy again if I need to replace my handle.

Well Dang Me, They Oughta Get a Stick and Hang Me!

That's what my vintage Kelly Axe Mfg Co 5.5lb axe head is saying! I'm just beginning to work on that, now that my WR handle has arrived. The grain orientation and run-out look good on the stick, the finish is beautiful, the throat is large enuf for this beast of a head, and I can't wait to get it hung. Stick around for updates;;;
