Closeout: 28" Boys Axe Handle (Old Model)
Good handles. Not perfect. Priced right.
Before we rolled out the new 28CBA, this was the handle we were running. It was solid, dependable, popular, and did what it was supposed to do.
But the last batch we got was turned on a pattern that had worn out, and we didn’t catch it right away. Some of the eyes came in a bit bigger than we like, and a few handles are a little thicker than usual. Some of the B grades even have a bit of twist to them.
Nothing that’ll cause a failure or stop you from using the axe but enough that they didn’t meet our standards for the premium line.
So, we pulled them from the site, rebuilt the pattern from scratch, and came out with the 28CBA - which is more ergonomic, more refined, and better all around.
Still, we’ve been sitting on these original handles for a while, not quite sure what to do with them. At the end of the day, they’re still tough, American-made pieces of hickory.
If you’re just looking for something to hang on a working axe and you don’t care about a few quirks, these will do the job just fine.
