I plan on hanging this Ruggs on a Dayton pattern head my wife picked up for me at a yard sale. The handle is a little more robust then the 28" NEC, It has a nice feel to it and the grain orientation is perfect. Very pleased!

I love the feel of this Ruggs handle much more than I anticipated. This paired with a three pound head, I think would make a spectacular work axe. I seriously regret only buying one. Hopefully it is restocked soon. Quality is top notch as always.
