This 16" piece of American Hickory is a comfortable curved handle meant to fit a smaller hatchet head like one you would use in the Boy Scouts. They are very ergonomically and would make the perfect handle for a pack-able bushcraft axe! Each handle is hand picked by our excellent team to ensure they are only of the highest quality!
The dimension of the eye is: 1 3/4" x 5/8".
If you really want to add some character to your new hang pick up a walnut wedge!
You can also grab an extra poplar wedge if you want too!
Every axe handle comes with the proper wedge!

I cannot say enough good things about Whiskey Rivers handles. Tight grain pattern, true dimension size, smooth finish and just an outstanding handle. Yes they may be little more expensive than the off the shelf handles you can find at the local big box store, but there, you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor, save the pain and heartburn..just buy a quality handle from Whiskey River, support small business, you won’t be disappointed in the quality.

The scout hatchet handle was very well made. I haven’t hung it yet, but I don’t expect to have any problems. The handle looks good and feels good in hand. The grain orientation was only slightly off vertical, but nothing major at all. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality.
I'm not at all impressed with the lack of form and I don't like the clipped end for this possible replacement on my Tommy Axe which still has a serviceable handle and with further inquiries could be saved by myself. I don't know if I need a replacement now.
