I put this handle on a one-off hatchet head because the handle matches the eye dimensions. A little sanding to fit the handle and several applications of Boiled Linseed Oil and I've got a good serviceable hatchet.

I have had a hatchet head floating around my shop for years and could never find a handle that felt right. Most that fit just felt unbalanced and clumsy. This handle was a bit thicker than the ones I was getting from the hardware store and it fit like a gloves.
