Free of lacquer and wax and the ends of them are sealed with log seal helping each board be less susceptible to humidity changes during shipping and storage.
This hickory is top tier and kiln dried. Grain orientation and run out was selected to the best of our ability at the time of cutting to length.
There are no guarantees against internal defects such and knots, wormholes and color changes.

Found this company through Buckin Billy Ray obviously had to try out a piece of hickory wood for carving my own axe handle. I am more than pleased. Shipping was quick. This company is awesome.
The grain is always solid and if you have skills you can make a few handles out of these. They are fantastic
Had 2 boards out of 14 boards with cracks and voids rendering them useless but the rest have been good so far
I ordered (2) 36” Handle Blanks, they arrived very timely and well packaged.
• Shipping was a c-hair steeper than I would have hoped (but the cost of fun is going up)
• Dimensions are on point 36” x 3” x 2”
• Grain is pretty snug, slightly curved and parallel to the long side (as desired for axe handles)
• Moisture content was consistent through both pieces at around 11%
Overall I am very satisfied!
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hickory block I ordered. There were no knots and blemish free with a nice straight grain. And the Bock cuts are big enough for me to make a matching knife handle from the excess. Great product! Thank you
