This is an excellent pack axe. It came razor sharp. The hardened poll will come in very handy as well. I haven’t put it to use yet as it’s still getting it’s BLO treatment, but the quality of Council Tool leaves me confident it will perform.

The 19" Council Tool Pack Axe is the perfect size and has just the features I need for camp use. I'm a fan of this style of axe. It works great for regular firewood processing chores at camp, as well as for crafting projects for camp furniture, tent stakes and other items you need to fashion out of wood. Choking up on the handle for finer tasks is easy and comfortable. Bonus feature is the hardened poll which allows you to pound metal stakes without damaging the eye. Second bonus feature - 90° spine on the top can be struck with a ferro rod for fire starting. A great quality axe and well worth the price tag.
