Your axe has a story, why shouldn’t your wedge?
These gorgeous monk-made wedges pair perfectly with our American Hickory handles to create a finished axe you’ll be excited to show off.
These wedges are crafted by a team of monks right here in the USA. They’re working to build their monasteries beside the Gila National Forest in SW New Mexico. They make all of their furniture, doors, and windows, and use the remnants of these projects to make wedges for their own wildfire suppression tools.
They began selling their decorative wedges in an effort to fundraise for their various building needs.
We’re thrilled to offer you these unique, stunning wood wedges in 9 different species:
Osage Orange
Whiskey Barrel White Oak
Brazilian Teak
Ash
Cherry
Desert Mesquite
Honduran Mahogany
Spalted Maple
Butternut
Alligator Juniper
Sugar Pine
Black Walnut
Purple Heart
Padauk
Wedge Dimensions:
Approx. 3 1/4" wide, 1/2" thick at the top, 3 1/4" long.
These are oversized to be used for double bits or Pulaskis, or can be cut to fit your next axe project.
*each wedge may vary on exact measurements slightly*
Great selection of wood! I recently did a Char finish and am about to try a vinigar/steel wool finish next. So having a selection of wedges on hand in advance really helps me select which one to use. It took a few tries to figure that if l want the multi piece price but with different wedges, I had to put my 5 selection in my cart first and not try to use the drop down selection windows to do that. Alls well that ends well, and I have 5 five different wedges to try out! Thanks, W.R.!
