I like a straight handle. I like a 32" handle. I like a fairly thin handle.
After I modify this type of handle, I have all three. There's still enough swell left at the pummel for my use in both chopping and splitting when I'm through with the thinning.
I am a "tough sell".....that is, I am very picky when it comes to hand tools and such. I expect everything to last forever. It is privilege of being an old guy who has used a lot of tools. Whiskey River quality never disappoints! These handles are made to last, and frankly, are the best quality I have ever seen!
Nice handle. Grain was fine. Not great but ok. Biggest issue is handle had a bad bend in it. Trying to straighten it now.
As much as I use my axe it's always nice to have a replacement handle on hand. I Use the Whiskey River scrapers to get the varnish off and have it ready to go on, as the 5lb Council Tool axe is my go axe, with use every day.
