This is a direct replacement for the Council Tool Standard (SU line) 5lb faller's axe
NO Premium Grain Guarantee. This is a standard line handle and will require some work to make it how you prefer.
If you really want to add some character to your new hang pick up a walnut wedge!
You can also grab an extra poplar wedge if you want too!

Not necessarily the same handle that comes on the 28” 5lb axe that I was specifically looking for but it works.
Product arrived quickly, packaged well and undamaged. Great purchase, and it certainly won't be my last.
With little shaping, the handle fit like a glove from top to bottom. Sanded & rubbed 3 coats of linseed oil. This is on my fallers axe. What is impressive, is the handle fits my small hands very well. Thanks Brandon for being “Johnny on the Spot “ for sending the handle quickly.
Beautiful axe handle.
I found a $5 lump of rust in a thrift store and let it soak in vinegar for a month. The fresh, rust free axe turned out to be a really nice smith made head with plenty of life left in it. The handle was straight grained, clear and had no flaws. Fit up was fast and strong. I hope I can make another thrift store find and buy one of these again.
